Secondary Mathematics
Maths is a key curriculum subject which challenges both teachers and students to use the knowledge gained to solve problems in everyday life. It also equips students for the workplace and their future life.
The course offers trainees opportunities to develop their professional competence, skills and understanding in all areas of the subject which will be explored and supported by working with young people in the classroom and elsewhere.
Trainees specialise in Mathematics and teach across the 11-16 range, with the possibility of contributing at Post 16 level. It is inevitable that some aspects of the subject will require further development in skills and knowledge, but that will be addressed as part of the training plan throughout the year.
