    Secondary History

History is a subject which challenges people to engage with the past to help them understand the present. It requires broad subject knowledge, cultural awareness, analytical skills, the ability to communicate big ideas and sensitivity. The course offers trainees opportunities to develop their professional competence, skills and understanding in this area. The philosophy of teaching the subject will be explored and supported by working in all key stages with young people in classrooms and potentially outside the school environment.
