    Secondary Design & Technology

Design and Technology is a truly dynamic subject which is at the forefront of our ever-changing world. It requires initiative, an enquiring mind, determination, the careful management of time and a sense of responsibility for making decisions and taking action.

The course offers trainees opportunities to develop their professional competence, skills and understanding in this area. The philosophy of teaching the subject will be explored and supported by working with young people in classrooms, workshops and other bespoke areas.

Trainees specialise in one aspect of Design and Technology to teach across the 11-16 range, which will be identified during the recruitment process and selected from one of the options below. It is inevitable that some aspects of the subject will require further development in skills and knowledge, but that will be addressed as part of the training plan throughout the year.
