The main focus of this programme is the participant’s own leadership development, including how to make best use of tasks and tools to make the transition to senior leadership.

Participants will be assessed through a written assignment to ensure that they have reached the qualification requirements.

The programme will consist of five full day training sessions spread throughout the course of a school year along with pre- and post-reading and an in-school impact project.

The training sessions will include the following five core areas:

    • Self-development and stepping up into senior leadership
    • Strategic leadership using data
    • Leadership of whole-school CPD
    • Teaching and learning improvements
    • Horizon scanning and looking to the future

To make sure they get the most out of the programme participants will need to carry out pre-and post-workshop reading outside of the sessions.

Please complete an application form online. Once your application is received your headteacher will be contacted and asked to complete a declaration form. Upon receipt of both forms your place on the course will be confirmed and you will be notified via email.

Please note: When applying for a place, your school agrees that it is able to pay for your place on the course. If you are eligible for a scholarship, we will apply on your behalf and contact your school if you have been successful in gaining a fully funded place. Although we cannot guarantee scholarship places for anyone, it is likely that those working in an area 5 or 6, or in a MAT with schools in an area 5 or 6, will be successful. Previous evidence suggests that those who meet the criteria and apply for scholarships are successful in attaining funding when they apply early for the course. As yet, there is no confirmation of scholarships from the DfE for 2020/21. If you have any questions about your eligibility please contact: cpd@emttp.ac.uk
