    Interview Process

Once your application is received we aim to respond within 7 working days with details of an interview date. During the interview process you will meet a member of the EMTTP staff as well as teaching staff from at least one partner school. Due to the quality of our trainees the University of Nottingham, who accredit the PGCE element of the course, do not require an additional interview. If you accept a place on our training you are automatically accepted onto the PGCE provision.

There are several elements to the interview, all of which are aimed at identifying the potential that you have to be a good or better teacher. If you are offered a place on our course then the activities at interview will help us to identify any additional support that we can provide both before and during your training.

    • Course outline.

You will have the opportunity to discuss the course and it’s various elements with a senior member of EMTTP staff, with expertise in the phase (Primary/Secondary) that you are applying for.

    • Lesson planning task

You will be asked to plan a lesson within the age range/subject that you are training. this plan will be discussed as part of the interview process.

    • Formal interview

This offers the chance for us to explore with you your motivation towards, knowledge and understanding of teaching and your awareness of the demands of teacher training.
