Teaching Drama is an exciting, enjoyable and challenging career that helps you develop innovative and creative curricular opportunities.  It introduces pupils to a wide range of theatre, which includes classical and contemporary plays, incorporating a variety of dramatic styles, improvisation and devising, theatre companies and practitioners. 

The academic and practical content is rigorous and challenging; at the same time, Drama encourages pupils to develop presentational skills and confidence, enabling them to converse articulately on many different levels. Drama teachers are able to develop and share their interest in and enjoyment of performance and theatre, through their development as didactic practitioners, theatre designers and educated spectators. 

The enjoyment and gratification that pupils undergo in Drama is virtually instant, and all ability levels can experience the awe and wonder of live performance whilst communicating their ideas to their peers.  Our cultural history and future are to be celebrated and enhanced by outstanding Drama teachers.  Becoming a truly inspiring Drama teacher will help you define and influence a generation and there are excellent opportunities for extra and cross curricular activities.
